Proposed CCS Alumni Tracing Software
Rationale of the study

Alumni associations have reshaped themselves in the

past decade to deliver market-focused programs, and strategic

communications approaches and plans are central to their ability to

reach their multiple audiences for all activities and build and foster

relationships.

Alumni associations exist to support any organization’s

goals, and strengthen the ties between alumni, the community,

and the parent organization. Nowadays, they have used various

forms of market research to identify their key value to their alumni

and reinforce that value consistently throughout all forms of

communication, either on print, online or through personal visits,

events, and presentations.

The College of Computer Studies (CCS) of the University

of Southern Philippines Foundation currently retrieves records of

graduates from the Office of Alumni Relation. The office will records

and updates the alumni directory with the use of spreadsheet.

Information is gathered through various sources such as social

networks, emails, yearbook or by filling out the alumni tracer as

a clearance requirement. USPF Alumni Relations also maintains a

blogspot where photos and articles of latest news and activities related

to alumni association are posted.

Thus, the researchers strongly feel the need to develop a website

and establish an Alumni association for the CCS Department. The

main purpose of this study is to trace historical student and graduate

information. It also aims to provide hubs of information offering

college news, events, issues, along with association activities and

organize seminar/workshop and training programs to build and foster

ICT growth and development trends among CCS alumni, faculty and

students.

With these objectives, the researchers composed of CCS faculty,

conduct a software development study for tracing CCS Alumni. It

will serve as

This project will develop and deliver a new way of knowing the status of software owned by Grandfield College for machines used by faculty and staff. The database that will be created will track the location of the software that Grandfield College owns. The new database will display a number of software which the school owns, where they are located, who uses the software, and what are the versions of the software owned by the school. Also, despite the version or the software, all versions and software will have (need to have) a “site” license. This database will be developed to enable additional products to be added to it over a period of time and be easy to maintain.…

“Even in lean times, the $400 billion business of higher education is booming. Nowhere is this more true than in one of the fastest-growing -- and most controversial -- sectors of the industry: for-profit colleges and universities that cater to non-traditional students, often confer degrees over the Internet, and, along direct quote taking out of the College Inc. How many of you went to a school that participated in the D.A.R.E. program? According to a report by the General Accounting Office, the "non-partisan investigative arm of the U.S. Congress", the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program commonly known as D.A.R.E is ineffective and "The six long-term evaluations of the D.A.R.E. elementary school curriculum that we reviewed found no significant differences in illicit drug use between students who received D.A.R.E. in the fifth or sixth grade (the intervention group) and students who did not (the control group)." This is just one example of the millions of dollars wasted on the government 's war on drugs. In my opinion, and those of many others, the entire "drug war" is a huge waste of money and valuable human resources. And where marijuana is concerned, there has been no substantial evidence that its prohibition has had any conclusive effect at all. The current drug policy on marijuana is not only ineffective but harmful to not only yourselves, but society as a whole. The criminalization of marijuana is not the solution; it 's part of the problem.…

In line with most other departments, the Sociology department expect that staff will take registers in seminars but accept that attendance monitoring for lectures is usually impractical. However, it was very clear that there was a variety of practice, ranging from nothing at all in some cases to detailed spreadsheet reports even showing coursework marks in others. A standard paperbased register form was available but tutors tended to adopt methods they were comfortable with, such as passing round a sign-up sheet and filing it or filling in more detailed record sheets after the session. Monitoring of attendance by year tutors was supposed to take place at key points in the year – survey weeks - but in reality it was often so difficult to get information from staff that a partial view was all that could ever be achieved. There was also uncertainty about who should deal with nonattendance – should it be the personal tutor, the year tutor, the unit tutor or the programme leader? - and many cases fell through the net. Difficulties were compounded by having students from different programmes mixed together and uncertainty at the beginning of the year about who was supposed to be in which class, especially in the first year when information comes relatively late in the day.…
