Pros And Cons Of Reince Priebus
While the 14 Republican presidential candidates (soon to be 12 or less) two Sundays ago vented their objections to the debate formats, Reince Priebus (RNC Chairman) appears to care less about the conduct of the networks. So he apparently watched football on television instead, according to CNN reports. This is systemic of why all of the previous debates, especially the latest CNBC debate where the moderators asked provocative and debasing questions that didn’t define candidates, but crucified them as a bunch of blundering, ill-suited political buffoons that care more about disparaging each other than discussing the issues of the day. It is for this very reason I believe that Reince Priebus should be removed as the RNC Chairman and that new guidelines should be arranged for the balance of debates. Mr. Priebus actions showcase how indifferent the Republican National Committee is with the candidates now …show more content…
Priebus had already cancelled one future debate with NBC News as a protest over what Republicans perceived as unfair treatment at the CNBC tilt last week. The candidates, notably Ben Carson and Donald Trump had even threatened to cancel their appearance if specific criteria weren’t met. The entire spectacle appears to be a disingenuous attempt by the media to have even legitimate grievances about the debate formats. Because these are not really debates, in the sense that they don’t allow candidates to fully articulate positions, but rather to deflect and defend themselves while attacking opponents’ positions. Reasoned arguments are nearly impossible with eleven people on a single stage, each one trying to stand out from the others. These debates are spectacles, entertainment for the masses and nothing more than excuses for partisans to do

Reagan's arrangements viably wrecked any chance his successor, George H. W. Bramble, had of being fruitful. Reaganomics delivered record shortages that constrained Bush to raise charges. Despite the fact that the greater part of the substantial hitting Democrats picked not to keep running in 1992, Bush was bound to be a one-term president. The Republican insurgency in 1994 stemmed specifically from Reagan's strategies. Newt Gingrich based upon Reagan's prosperity by abusing social issues and utilizing a portion of the filthy battle strategies that were found in the 1988 presidential race. These same grimy systems and abuse of social divisions slung George W. Hedge to the White House in 2000. He brought along numerous previous Reagan staff members…

Before the election, if President Obama was not able to get the Senate to approve his United States Supreme Court applicant, the next president would potentially be responsible for filling the vacant spots on the court over the term due to possible retirements and deaths. If a Republican is elected president, the court could continue to issue decisions that are favorable to conservatives in the many cases it hears. If a Democrat is elected president, the court could shift towards a more liberal direction. How the new president forms the court will differ depending on which party controls the Senate after the…

The article by Jayme Deerwester in USA Today online is a rhetorical and slight propagandist piece on the interview/ debate between Trevor Noah and Tomi Lahren on the Daily Show. The writer writes in a very bipartisan and not biased on either side of the political spectrum. She talks about how the debaters were, “engaged in a spirited but respectful debate and managed not to talk over each other, a feat that's become all but unheard of on cable news the last few years.” (Deerwester, After That 'Daily Show' Interview) showing that she got taken aback by how the debate went and how calm both sides were to talking even if Tomi could have been aggressive due to being in a place that finds her views bothersome and frightful. She then later talks…

During the third Presidential Debate both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump both have strong arguments and strong beliefs, but the way Clinton uses rhetorical appeal to catch the attention of her audience is outstanding. She is a career politician and is able to convey her points and views much more effectively than Donald Trump. The three main points that I find to be very interesting are abortion, gun laws and the tax cuts. All three of these topics are very hot topics, now do I agree with everything she says no but she has all the right arguments to win a debate. She keeps her calm better than Trump, that’s not to say she doesn’t show signs of breaking from frustration but compared to him she is much more experienced. Donald Trump sometimes comes off as an…

There once was a simpleton who was running for the presidency. He was a man with no experience at being a president. Most people who would run for the presidency were knowledgeable and knew much of the world. His lack of experience showed in the polls. Although he was a simple man he had created a plan to win the presidency. At the next debate, it was quite average, all politicians talking and arguing and the people watching and murmuring in agreement. Usually, this simpleton stayed quiet at these debates for he had nothing to say. He peered upon the sea of heads and inhaled a deep breath. As there was a gap of silence he sprung himself from his chair sending the papers on his desk to fly off. In a confident and strong voice, he stated; “We all know that our economy is falling and the only thing that will fix this problem is lowering taxes”. Before anyone could rebuttal to this ridiculous and untrue statement he quickly chimed in “I mean of course you all must know this to be true, only a fool and unfit President would find this to be false”. There was a silent tension across the room. The politicians looked at each other in confusions each afraid to look like a fool. Clap,…

US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on January 27, 2017. The order bans citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the US for at least 90 days. The order also suspended refugee admission program of the US for 120 days. US officials added that the order is only a first step toward a wider ban, which is aimed at protecting the US from terrorist attacks. The executive order is in line with President Trump’s campaign pledge. He promised a total and complete shutdown of Muslim immigration during his presidential campaign.…

I get that they didn't like President Obama but their lives were not miserable as they want me to believe. God was not banned and did not disappear, guns were not confiscated or even limited. (gun sales increased), no rights were taken away from anyone, in fact more people were rightfully given equality. The stock market hit record highs, unemployment dropped, construction increased as did home sales due to low interest rates. Our economy improved from the recession. Millions of Americans gained health insurance and insurance companies were required to cover everyone with preexisting conditions and lifetime caps were…

For this assignment I chose two of the most popular weekly news programs. The first was “Meet the Press” from my local NBC affiliate out of Chicago on March 2nd Sunday morning. It was hosted by Chuck Todd and aired at 10am. The second was from my local Fox channel also based in Chicago and was “Fox News Sunday”. It was hosted by Chris Wallace and aired at 9am on March 2nd Sunday morning. I chose these two shows due to the fact they aired at approximately the same time, on the same day, and therefore were in direct competition. Additionally Fox news is generally regarded to be a conservative based network, while NBC and their affiliates are generally considered to be influenced by liberal ideas.…

The 2016 election in the United States has been one of the chaotic elections in recent US history. The two major candidates running for president had many flaws that would have made them as drop out in any other given election in any other election year. However, this year both candidates are still running for president despite major issues with each of them. One of the candidates, Hillary Clinton, had many problems with her emails. One after another, a new email issue is being released on a weekly basis. So much so that many people, both republicans, and democrats, are questioning whether or not Hillary should be running for office. The question is proposing to the American people: “do the last emails released by the FBI have a major impact…
