Pros And Cons Of Selection B
I believe that selection B is a swing piece. The song feels smooth and danceable while featuring a full and large sound along with its other musical characteristics led me to believe it is swing. The piece featured a distinct call and response characteristic at 0:12-0:19, first the woodwind instruments play there note then the brass seems to respond by playing their note. The piece also has a strong form, throughout the song there is a balanced amount of repetition and contrast to make the song appealing. Additionally, since the piece is swing, it has a 32-bar form and subdivided beats that are long then short, which is a standard rhythmic quality of swing music. The melody overall seems tuneful in nature, because of the songs repeating phrases
