There has been a debate about the use of synthetic turf fields or natural grass fields in outdoor athletics for several years now. Some say synthetic turf is easier to take care of and requires less maintenance while some think it is the other way around. There is also a debate about the cost of both of these selections that has high school and college schools contemplating what would be in their best benefit in the long run, not just for the students but, for the the community and school board.
Prose and cons
There are some small prose and cons to both of these selections. Some prose of a turf field are that they have a much lower maintenance cost than a natural grass field. It does not require watering and will not wilt and die in the cold winters so it can be used all year round. Also it does not get muddy when it rains. Natural fields tend to be a lot less visually appealing to the human eye. The grass dies as soon as it gets too hot or too cold and in order to keep it alive you either have to water it everyday in the warm seasons or cover it in the cool seasons and neither of these options tend to work very well. Natural fields take a lot more maintenance. They have to be treated with pesticides which can be very costly, and if the school plans on putting logos on their field they will regularly have to fix them due to the fact that natural grass falls apart and dies easily and the color of the logos will fade increasingly faster than on a turf
