Prior to this course and reading the chapter. I would say that I was able to multi-task in some ways, but at times I would not be able to, especially if situation was too chaotic. Now, as far as thinking that I was good at multitasking, I would say that there were times I was fairly decent at it, especially the time that I was a supervisor in charge of digitizing, embroidery and managing all the functions of the job, including the employees. I felt that I was more alert during the time. Now, when it comes to studying I need to have complete and utter silence so I can focus on the material.

My thoughts on multitasking is that it’s not easy. I feel that you have to train yourself to become a descent multi-tasker. While driving, I would be seeing eating and talking on the cell phone, now in the case of studying, as I mentioned earlier I would need complete silence. The slightest noise would distract me, for instance, at the moment my fiancé is studying to be a pharmacy technician and I can hear her typing away at her keyboard, on the computer which is a huge distraction for me. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to rewrite this paragraph.

I have to say I enjoyed the test. My analysis was that it was much easier concentrating, without any distractions, which for this test would have been the music. I found myself grasping the material easier and quicker than trying to read, while the music was playing. I also found myself singing along with the music, in my head, instead of concentrating on the readings.

A job analysis is used to assess and describe jobs and the characteristics that would be most suited for that job; these are usually conducted by an industrial/organizational psychologist. To gather this information either a job-oriented, a person-oriented approach, or a combination of both is utilized. The job-oriented approach is used to describe the tasks that are necessary to complete a particular job. In contrast, the person-oriented approach gathers information about the characteristics someone would need to possess to effectively do the job in question; this includes gathering information about the knowledge, abilities, skills, and other personal characteristics (e.g. being organized) an individual would need to be most effective in the job being analyzed. This paper will analyze the job of a school psychologist using the task inventory job analysis method. The information gathered from a job analysis can be used for numerous purposes, but for the purpose of this paper only selection and vocational counseling will be discussed. It will then go on to discuss objective and subjective measures used to appraise an individual’s performance in being a school psychologist. It will finally discuss the pros and cons of these appraisal methods.…

Multicultural research methodologies are one of the newest research fields to be implemented in recent decades. Traditional research methodology has been established for centuries, and has a very orthodox view of things like norms, measurement instruments, sampling, and observation. Multicultural researchers quickly found out that applying these same factors to their own research was inappropriate; the field of multicultural research demanded a different perspective if any sort of useful and accurate findings were ever going to be issued. Two areas where there is great difference between multicultural research and traditional research are measurement instruments and norms. In these two areas it is easy to demonstrate how traditional research has a much easier time being performed with the standard and well established concepts involving measurement instruments and norms. However, when a multicultural researcher attempts to answer a question or reinforce a hypothesis he or she will quickly find out that they must perform their research in a way that is very different from those in the traditional field.…

I shared with him the metaphysical doctrine of ideas, or preferably of forms as the unadulterated substance of reality. It was clear that he took umbrage when he dared to counter and insist that perception does a perfect work in bringing one closer to the state of knowledge. I was at that time compelled to present a strong argument for his pleasure so I began to speak rather earnestly. “Do you not possess a soul my brother? It is there that ideas rest forever in eternity, even permeating the universe and the God who is in command of it (Hunt, 2013). I continued to question him when I inquired as to how material objects can possibly achieve the like. I continued my verbal onslaught by stating: “Our souls partake of those eternal ideas; we bring them with us when we are born. When we see objects in the material world, we…

Multitasking in my opinion can be a good thing but also a bad thing. Researchers say many teens and children under the age 18 are more likely to multitask compared to mature adults. Technology has been the cause of young teens not paying full attention. Teenagers feel that they will miss out on important information so this messes with teen’s concentration. The brain cannot be at two places at one time. “Not only can people not process two tasks simultaneously, but it also takes longer to multitask than it would to do the individual tasks one after the other”, according to Steven G. Yantis. When a person tries to the do two things that require critical thinking and decision making, a delay is at the second task. When people multitask they are the ones that tend to forget or not remember what was done and get distracted easily.…

Multitasking is truly a skill that cannot be acquired by just watching how it's done. This skill must be practiced long enough until it becomes second nature. Today during our transition from geography to our language packet, I grabbed the geography questions and began to write down the answers that we just went over. My cooperating teacher then stopped me and advised to do that later, at this time I should be up in front of the room waiting on the students. They should not be waiting for me. This was one of my remarks I noted down on my list. Multi-tasking: you should be waiting on the student not vice versa. There is truly so much to take in as each day passes, it's a nonstop race against the clock and the students. You must always be working on keeping them on track, which keeps you, the teacher, on your toes and on the right track as well, or else you wouldn't be in front of a…
