psychoanalysis of the joker

The character I decided to pschoanlayze was “ The Joker” from the movie “ The Dark Knight” played by Heath Ledger. The Joker was a very strange character who sometimes showed no reasom to his actions. He had an sense of humor that nobody understands and his appeareacne is quite frightening. His face is painted in order to have some sort of appearence related to a clown. His hair is dyed green. Despite his appearence he proved to be very intelligent and strategic. The movie never gave any history background of the Joker. There is no information of where he came from or even what is real name was. But during a couple of scenes he describes hints about what his past life. The Joker would tell a variety of different stories pertaining to the history of his scars that didnt really piece together. Although the stories didnt piece together, he made it very clear that he had a strong hatred for his father. In a particular scene of the movie the Joker is found invading some sort of gang hideout and holding many people at gunpoint. He begins telling one of them a story about his father. He desrcibes his father as a drunk who places a knife in his mouth and repeats the prhase “ lets put a smile on that face!”. As we learned in Pschology our parents have a big impact on how we’ll turn out and his father seemed to be a very authoratative parent. His dad represents law and order. Based off his story his father appeared to be very abusive which more than likely is the cause for his dislike of his dad. And since his dad represents laws, this could be the reason why the Joker seemed to have became a criminal and have a hate for society in Gotham City. In another scene the Joker is displayed burning a mountain of money without hesitation. It is evident in this scene that the Joker does not care about the normal wants of humans such as money or social class. His only attention seems to be destroying law/society and playing with Batman in which he has a weird bond with. Batman is the
