in specific regions of the brain. Those neurological causes are either genetic or very early development problems. There are studies that have shown signs of psychopathy occurring in very young children who contradict the train of thought that psychopathy in adulthood come from abuse in childhood. Aileen Wuornos was born on February 29, 1956 in Rochester, Michigan. It was good that she never knew her father. He was a psychopathic child molester who hung himself in prison. Aileen’s mother, Diane, was very young when she had Aileen and Keith. She then abandoned them with her parents in 1960. Their grandparents never told them that they were not their parents. When they found out, they rebelled. Their grandfather, Lauri Wuornos, was a heavy drinker and was very strict. He would beat Aileen naked and sexually assault her. At age 15, her grandfather kicked her out of the house. She ended up going into hitchhiking and prostitution. When Aileen was 20, she was picked up by a wealthy 69-year-old named Lewis Fell. He fell in love with her right away. They married but after a few months she started becoming wild. She would involve herself in bar fights and was arrested multiple times. He then divorced her. After that marriage ended she became a complete wreck. She was going back into prostitution, plus forgery, and thievery. She then met Tyria Moore at a gay bar and the moved in together. On December 13, 1989, Richard Mallory was found along a dirt road near Interstate 95 in Volusia County, Florida.
He was killed with three shots from a .22 gun. The case went cold after a few months. On June 1, David Spears was found naked in the woods in Citrus County, Florida near Interstate 95. He was also shot multiple times with a .22. They also found used condom near the body. A few days after David Spears was found, Charles Carskaddon was found naked near Interstate 95. He was also killed with a .22. On July 4, the Marion County sheriff’s department found a car with no licence plates, completely wrecked. They also found a bloody hand print that belonged to Aileen Wuornos. They figured out that the car belonged to Peter Siems who disappeared on June 7. His body has not been found to this day. August 4, Try Burress’ body was found in the Ocala National Forest off Highway 19. He was killed with a .22. Dick Humphreys body was found on September 12 shot 7 times with a .22. A month after Humphreys was found, Walter Gino Antonio was found nude on a logging road in Dixie County. He was shot 4 times with a .22. Captain Steve Binegar, commander of the Marion County Sheriffs Criminal Investigation Division, heard about the crimes in Citrus and Pasco Counties and he could not ignore the similarities between all of them. No one picked up hitchhikers anymore, so he thought that the killers had to be non-threatening to the victims. He then suspected women. To be …show more content…
more specific, the two women who wrecked Peter Siems car. In November, the women’s sketches were in papers all around Florida. A month after the sketches were in the papers, the two women were found, Ty Moore and Lee or Susan Blahovec of Cammie Green.
None of them had a criminal record. The bloody handprint was the key. They matched it to a Lori Grody. Lori Grody, Susan Blahovec, and Cammie Greene were all aliases for Aileen Wuornos. In 1991, two officers went undercover to search for Wuornos. They had beers with her at two different bars one night. They met up again with her the next day and arrested her as Lori Grody for an outstanding warrant. They found Ty Moore and had her statement and they found out everything. They had Moore call Wuornos in jail everyday, while the call was tapped, hoping that she would confess. She thought she was in jail as Lori Grody. She then would talk about the crimes in code to Moore. A few phone calles assed and Wuornos became suspicious of Moore. She cared about Moore so she confessed so Moore would be
free. When she confessed to the murders she added that she wished she had never don them or became a prostitute. But then she contradicts herself saying that is was for self-defence. “Because most of ‘em either were gonna start to beat me up or were gonna screw me in the ass, and they’d get rough with me, so I’d fight ‘em and I’d get away from ‘em.” She also mentioned in a letter to the Florida Supreme Court, “I’m one who seriously hates human life and would kill again.” Aileen was executed by lethal injection on October 9, 2002. "I'd just like to say I'm sailing with the Rock and I'll be back like Independence Day with Jesus, June 6, like the movie, big mother ship and all. I'll be back." Those were her last words. She claimed that she shot the men out of self-defense but later she said she wanted to make peace with God.
