"Purple Rain" is a song that was recorded live in a show at First Avenue Club in Minneapolis on August 3, 1983, with overdubs though edited later. It was the first-time Price was involved in live recording. The show features Wendy Melvoin, the guitarist together with the Revolution Band in Minnesota Dance Theater. "Take Me with U" is the song he recorded with Apollonia, as they are backed up by Jill Jones on vocals and Revolution band.
