Questions to ask: Where? When did it start? Quality? Quantity? Duration? Inciting event? Was it present on admission? What did they get for pain already? Did the pain improve with medication? Allergies to pain medications? If headache, chest or abdominal pain is present, refer to the respective sections for further questions.
Rule out: Sudden acuity of worsening pain. Refer to the respective sections for headache, chest or abdominal pain.
