When you read the term “critical thinking” what are the initial impressions of what this term means to you? (35 sentences) My initial impression of this term is that I’m not going to be able to answer something easily.
I’m going to have to think about the question and material in front of me and word my answer(s) carefully. Critical thinking means to me, literally, that I will need to think critically. What do you feel is the purpose of thinking critically? (23 sentences) The purpose of critical thinking is to not go through life just answering yes or no. You need to think about why things are the way they are and be open minded to how things can be; looking at the world from a different perspective other than your own. How do you feel thinking critically is different from being “critical” toward something or someone? Explain. (34 sentences) Being critical towards someone or something is almost the opposite of thinking critically.
When you’re critical of something you’re judging it or them very strictly. Being critical involves believing things should be one way and one way only. Thinking critically requires an open mind and the ability to change your perspective or thinking process. How do you feel that critical thinking skills will benefit you in your everyday and your professional life? Explain.
Being able to think critically will help me meet people and become friends with many different types of people because I will be more open to new things, experiences, and people. It will help me in the workplace because I will be able to have more than one way to look at things therefor more than one way to solve problems.
