showing that racism is still present even in the 21st century.
Martin Luther King Jr. was an activist, and in the speech that he delivered at Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., a speech that was in direct relation to the ending of racism and black oppression in the country. The event was attended by an approximation of 250,000 people from various parts of the country. His charisma, confidence, and powerful words were an inspirational factor in the whole of America. His speech was so powerful such that even to date, it is played by people as a symbol of hope. Considering that racism has not ended in the country, replaying the speech on a loop would help end the racism that is currently in progress.
The speech delivered by Martin Luther King Jr. was a predictive speech, he forecasted the ending of racism, and a society that Black and White people would live in harmony. The words he used, and the charisma he had delivering the speech are some of the many factors that make me wish that I was in that event during that specific day, or if it were possible to travel across time, then that would be one of my stops.
Racism is not a developmental aspect in any society; it hinders the growth of a nation, and at times, it even escalates to violence or even death. As such, listening to Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech, or witnessing the speech would give me a specific type of hope that one day, racism will not be a problem in the world anymore. The world would be united under common goals and objective.
