One take-a-way I have from this book is when he was talking to his son about the “rules” black people must subject to. Also, as far as America has come being black we still have to be “twice as good”. I think that this hit home because being black like what he said we don’t represent just us but the whole race. This is true because if a white American sees one of us do something she instantly thinks that of the whole race. As wrong as that is that is the world that we live in today. I definitely agree with that the support of our family is huge because it is not easy being black in America. A supporting, loving, accepting family goes a long way.
