Hancock develops his illustration by retelling the story Ferdinand the Bull through Michael Oher’s character as well as developing a paradox between the two main characters since Leigh Anne is a wealthy Caucasian who is respected in her city while Michael is a homeless African American that all the characters doubt except Leigh Anne.
Hancock’s purpose is to inform the reader about the oppression of African Americans, especially the ones that are athletically talented in a “white man’s world,” but he uses Leigh Anne’s perspective since his audience is mainly Caucasian to connect more to the audience’s view and to make them reevaluate their morals as Caucasians that can stop the oppression of African Americans. …show more content…
