Rainsford Monologue
Friendship Echoes Whitney, Rainsford, and all the crew had arrived at the island after a 5-hour trip from New York to the island. The jungle emerged around Whitney, with thick clouds of fog, humidity around the jungle, and shadows of past dead souls wandering in the forest. The sun passed through the shades, illuminating the path Whitney needed to travel, but growing a sense of anxiety and fear. Rainsford faded into the wilderness, leaving no other choice for Whitney, but to feel fear and confusion. Whitney started thinking about his friend: “When I thought about Rainsford all my past went down onto my feelings, thinking, wandering and only having compassion for all the things that my real friend, Rainsford, is suffering in this exact moment …show more content…
Jake, the passionate hunting companion of the group, Tom, an ambitious cruise driver who had spent all his life living on the yacht. And last but no less important, Diana, Tom’s adventurous, faithful child who has spent all the time exploring new cultures, societies and new countries”. Moments later, Whitney started thinking about the foggy jungle while she was facing a lot of traps, dangerous animals, and problems in his mind. She took a deep breath, steadying her thoughts. She needed to act, because no one would act. If she wanted to find Rainsford, Whitney needed to take responsibility for her friend. The hours, flying by like a cheetah, she started to go through Whitney’s mind in all of her thoughts and fears. An hour ago on the cruise, Whitney grabbed a backpack and began to gather supplies from there. She packed a flashlight, water, a first-aid kit, and her lonely and fearful heart. She felt amazing, but afterward, she started searching for her lost friend. Not only that, but she would not allow fear to take over her mind, she’d search for every place on the …show more content…
They had faced a lot of challenges together, and only thinking that he would die was unacceptable. Whitney said “Rainsford?” Rainsford responded, “What is it?” “Dogs. They’re close.” Rainsford’s expression turned into a face of anxiety and adrenaline. “We had to get ready”. If they find us, we will not be safe”. “We’ll fight them,” Whitney said aggressively, stumping the floor with a final decision. As the first dog turned around, they jumped into action, adrenaline coursing through their veins. They fought with courage, their instincts were the description of the battle in simple words. Whitney could feel fear in her mind, but she wouldn't let down her friend Rainsford. Finally, they spotted an exit at the back edge of the cave. “There!” Rainsford pointed deeply into the cave. “Let’s go!” They squeezed like soap and water through the tight space and time-traveled to the sunlight and nature's vivid landscape.“Where do we go now?” Whitney screamed. “They're,” Rainsford said, with a lot of
