Randy's Run: A Fictional Narrative
Bzzzz! Bzzzz! Randy’s alarm clock went off. “Ughhh” Randy said as he hit the button sluggishly on his alarm clock. He sat up on his nice warm bed and thought to himself about how just a year ago, he was sleeping on the bleak, bitter ground. He thought about Austin one of his best friends. Randy tripped over a branch and fell. Austin’s laughter roared in the quiet forest.
“Austin!” he yelled. Austin walked over and helped Randy up. Cain came and walked back to where Austin and Randy were.
“Ready?” Austin asked.
“Yeah,” Randy responded. Austin looked at Cain and made a resentful face. The boys walked until they saw the mall.
“How are we gonna get in?” Randy asked.
“Easy,” Austin said and grabbed a vine hanging down the side of the wall.
“One at a time” Cain said. Austin climbed to the top of the roof. Then Randy got on and started climbing up. Austin gave Randy a hand and helped him up. Randy walked over and sat down. Cain started up the rope. he got to the top and it started to tear. Cain leaped up and grabbed the side of the roof. Austin looked down at Cain and smiled. Randy ran over and helped Cain up and over. The boys all looked at each other.
“Thanks to Cain we need a new way down,” Austin said. Austin took Randy and Cain to the broken part of the roof.
“What do you want us to do, jump?” Randy asked.
“No, climb he said back. Austin slid down a pile of old roof and rocks down to the floor. Randy and Cain followed. They heard a loud, blood curdling scream.
“What was that?” Cain asked.
“Probably a coyote.” Austin
