Rare Earth Element and Europium
The element that I was assigned me was Europium. Europium was originated or basically discovered in Europe. The root word of the word is (Euro). It was founded by a Eugene-Antole Demarcay in 1816. When first discovered he thought that samples of Samarium were in Europium, with also an element that is unknown. But around 1901, he could announce that it was pure Europium. Today this element is very rare. As my costume is shown I am a television. The reason I am a television is because one of Europium’s compounds is used as a red phosphor in television sets an yttrium-based phosphor.
Now, you’re probably wondering if europium is a metal or non-metal. Europium is a metal. Europium is about as hard as lead and is quite ductile. It is the most reactive of the rare earth metals, and reacts quickly when exposed to air. It resembles Calcium when reacted with water. It’s classified in the 6th row of the periodic table which is lanthanum. The rare element is not common in America and is usually found where it was made. With europium I believe it because most of the things that are made of europium have some type of an accent or unusual way to say or spell it. Most LCD TVs are sourced by Europium which gives off a clear and better colorful picture than televisions made in the 1990’s. The atomic mass is 151.96. To find the atomic mass of an element, first they have to see how many protons and neutrons contained. There are 63 electrons and protons in Europium and 89 neutrons. Now this item is not something that you can easily pick up anywhere. You’ll have to save up a couple paychecks, and also a couple of birthday cards. For one kilogram europium could cost up to $1600-$1700, that’s just for one kilogram.
From research I found out they say we use Europium just about every day. If you wear glasses, drive a car the lenses and windshield contain Europium. Europium is used in the creation of infrared absorbing automotive glass. Europium's compound, Europium Oxide is often

This was a hobby that David decided to take up and began finding tons of information relating to this topic. David found out different elements that are characterized further by the protons that are in their nuclei. Some examples of the way these elements are characterized are Carbon, Neon, and Sodium. Carbon contains six protons, therefore, the atomic number is six. Same with Neon and Sodium; Neon has ten protons and Sodium has eleven. Furthermore, Neon's atomic number is ten and Sodium's atomic number is eleven. He furthered in his research on this topic and learned that the atomic weight(atomic mass) is calculated by knowing the number of protons and neutrons put together.…
