Raymond's Run By Squeaky Quotes
The best thing that living creatures have is that they have emotions. That is why humans are always stronger than other things like robots. Emotions are very important. We can find emotions anywhere. Emotions can be weak sometimes, but very strong sometimes. In the story called “ Raymond’s run,” which was written by Toni Cade Bambara, there is a girl name Squeaky who is the main character. This story is mainly trying to tell us about the story of Squeaky and her emotions. During this story, the reader can see how complex this character is; as she runs as an escape from her trouble.

She is very confident with her running. As she gets ready for the important race with Gretchen, the Mayday race. The race is very important for Squeaky. In this race, she will be competing against Gretchen who is a new girl in the town. She wants to show her skills. She is nervous, but she thinks no one can beat her. She is very confident about it because she was practicing a lot. Squeaky shows confidence in the following quote: “There is no track meet that I don’t win the first-place medal.” ( p. 26, lines 24-25) This explains how because the readers can see how much she likes to run and how she thinks she is good at running. She is thinking out loud here, thinking a lot about the upcoming event, the Mayday race. This shows the readers her personality and shows how badly she wants to win the race. The reason that “Squeaky” thinks this was because she wants to show how confidence she was with the running. Throughout the story, Squeaky is worrying about her Mayday race.
