REACTION PAPER
(The Count of Monte Cristo) The Count of Monte Cristo is a classic story showcasing different genres of themes. It is about adventure of hope, justice, status, vengeance, romance and forgiveness. The film captivated all the viewers because of its reality about the society. It touched the different lives of people facing the same struggles and situations. What also helped for this film to be understood is its historical setting. It is for this reason that, it embossed the flow of the story to be worth remembering. The film indicated to the viewers the essence of the themes. One of the main themes of the film is hope. Based on the story, hope must be infinite. No matter how long for it to be achieved, persistence and belief will be the key solution. As for the lives today, we can incorporate actions with our hopes. We should not always hope without actions because we will not be able to get and finish the work we are in. Another interesting and I think the most controversial issue is the justice. In the story, justice was scaled on the positive side. People of guilty or not have not given a fair treatment. Sovereign people were not conducting scrutinized and detailed investigations. They would just abduct and imprisoned somebody who was innocent and unknowledgeable. In our modern society, we can associate justice with the education. You will always be the center of investigations and speculations for commonalities. Simply, you are the prospective suspect. In line with this is the social status which is another theme of the story. Based on the film, those people who belong to royalties and have authorities are the ones whose justice favour. While those who at the bottom of the society would never acquire the justice and the privilege of the tyrants and magistrates. This
