The student was engaged and he also showed confidence while reading the word list and passages. There were a few times that the student got distracted or became frustrated because the words began to get complex for his grade and reading level. The administration of the assessment was successful because I was able to assess and analyze the students reading level. Also, I learned it is always important to assess a student’s comprehension. It important to assess a student’s comprehension because a student might be good at pronouncing words and reading a passage orally, but the student might have trouble understanding or comprehending what he/she is reading.
