Rearden-Personal Narrative

Nobody thought that it would be possible for an Indian to bring back a victory for Rearden, one of the many all white schools. Junior decided to transfer to Rearden and this decision turned many heads. Most of the Indians in the Reservation were extremely dishonoured by his choice and decided to seclude him from their community. Not only did he lose his community but, he also lost his only best friend Rowdy. Despite all that, Junior knew that it was best for him to leave all of this behind so that he can have a better future. Fighting through the verbal abuse that he faced at Rearden he decided to showcase his skills after joining their varsity basketball team. He travelled back to his hometown of Wellpinit to play his first game of the season
against their team, which they unfortunately lost. Coming above all of the negatives, Junior realized that he moved to Rearden to do something and he was going to do that soon. Rearden came back to Wellpinit to fight back. They were planning to use their secret weapon which was going to shine strong and his name is, Junior. The game starts with the blow of the whistle, soon after Junior’s former best friend Rowdy intercepts the ball and races down the court hoping to smash a dunk on their rival team. Junior doesn’t allow that to happen because just as Rowdy was about to dunk he snatched the ball right out of his hands.
This is an amazing feat because nobody took the ball out of a guy's hands just as he was about to dunk! If that wasn’t enough, Junior races back to the other side of the court and pulls back to take a three. It goes and soars through the air like a bird. Finally, it swishes right through the net without making a sound but, at the same time, crushing all of Wellpinit high school varsity basketball team’s hopes and dreams. Junior continued to display his A-game on every court, bringing them the championship title of the varsity league. The reservation team, Wellpinit continued to go on a losing streak from that point on. We from our seats don’t understand the damage that has been done. But, from a Native-Indian’s perspective of dealing with negligence their whole life, the Wellpinit basketball team’s future dreams of making it into the NBA would be crushed and destroyed while the privileged whites continued to shine. Realizing that, Junior continued to be a member in Wellpinit and forgive all of the people that dishonoured him in his home town. He might be a winner in Rearden but now, he’s a winner in his reservation of
Wellpinit!
