Reasons Of Adnan's Motive For Killing Hae
Adnan is not guilty because the evidence against him wasn’t strong. Adnan didn’t have a clear motive to kill Hae, wouldn’t have been able to kill Hae in the twenty one minutes, wasn’t with Jay when the Nisha call happened, and didn’t have a fair trial. If there wasn’t enough evidence to put Adnan away, then they shouldn’t have convicted him. The state had said Adnan’s motive for killing Hae was because he was heartbroken and wanted revenge for the pain she had caused him. Although, that isn’t true, both Adnan and Hae had moved on with their relationships and had started dating other people. Saad Chaudry, Adnan’s best friend, had said that Adnan had already started dating other girls and was not upset about the breakup. Although, he was upset …show more content…
Nisha was a girl that Adnan was talking to in another town, and was called by him on the day Hae was killed. Adnan was invited to the video store that Jay worked at and called Nisha, telling Jay to say hi as well. However, Jay hadn’t worked at the video store at the time and Yurich, the prosecutor, also tried hiding this fact to the jury when Nisha was on trial. Adnan says he was at school at that time for track. Although, there is a call going to Nisha on that day, but it might’ve just been a butt dial by Jay. The call was charged on Adnan’s account to AT&T, which shows that she was indeed called at the time. However, AT&T charges on unanswered calls that last for an unreasonable amount of time, and the call went on for two minutes. The Nisha call could in fact have just been a butt dial but was hidden from the …show more content…
Seven out of twelve of the jury was black, and viewed Jay as the underdog. Koenig had talked to six of the jurors and none of them had any doubts about Adnan, they weren’t under the impression that the investigation was inadequate. During the trial, Adnan’s heritage were mentioned in order to tag him as a bad person. Vicki Wash, the prosecutor, spoke about another case with a Pakistani male that had murdered someone and then fled to Pakistan. She compared the two cases and had revealed Adnan’s uncle that could make people disappear. Although that isn’t true, they had gotten that tip from Adnan’s science teacher and wasn’t true at all. Jay had also received a lawyer from his prosecutor, which wasn’t mentioned before the trials had started and was a violation of the rules of discovery. Jay could’ve been affected by the free lawyer and have lied to please the state. Jay was viewed as the underdog and had the jury in his

One thing you should know is that Adnan’s phone pinged from a cell tower by Leakin Park, the way cell towers work is that if you are in the range of a cell tower, the one you are nearest to is the one that will connect. If you remember earlier I stated that Jay had Adnan’s phone at this time, and if you are wondering what reason there would be for Jay to have a grudge on Adnan, well remember Jay's girlfriend she is also Adnan’s best friend, and on top of that during a dance they were both crowned king and queen instead of Jay and her. While this would not give most people a reason to frame someone, it might have been to Jay. To many people Jay was always a very weird and mean kid while to others he was goofy, but there was an instance when he was talking to a friend of his and they started joking around, jay told his friend he “should to know what it's like to be stabbed” and took out his knife, his friend then said “no I don't want to know, why don't you?” and then Jay pretended to try to stab him to which the guy held his hand and they both began to wrestle. This puts Jay in a very tight spot, but even with this there is one evidence that looks especially bad for Adnan and that is the Nisha call. The Nisha call happens at 3:37 pm the afternoon of Hae’s disappearance and it puts Adnan with Jay which in turn collaborates with Jay's story and makes Adnan’s alibi that Jay had his phone invalid.…

Jay says in two different investigations that the call came in around 3:45 but according to the records they came in at 2:36. The records also show that Jay was not at Jenn’s house from 12pm to 3:40pm (like he and Jenn said) that leaves the following; Jay was in the area of Hae’s last-known location at the time that she went missing, and Jay has no alibi for where he was during that time period. Thus, Jay can’t be at Jenn’s house, as he and Jenn told the police over and over. The records show the phone near Woodlawn the entire time of Hae’s (probable) abduction and(or) murder. The same phone was being used to call “Jenn house” at the same time. Adnan has no reason to call Jenn. Did Jay call Jenn?…

Going on Jay wilds, he confessed to help Adnan bury the body in one of his recorded police interviews but in another story by Jen, Jay had claimed that he didn't help bury the body but had no sentencing for helping and knowing about the burying plus the murder of Hae. The body was found in Leakin Park it is a widely known wooded area to dump bodies. Jay had known where Hae's car was but not the body when he claimed to the police he helped bury it but to Jen he didn't help Adnan at all. Also Jay was seen disposing his clothes by another witness Jen but then claims he didn't help Adnan at all but why get rid of the clothes that he was wearing. When Jay was being questioned by police the tapes recorded weren't turned on right when Jay got in the room it took police 45 minutes to get the tapes rolling so what happened in that chunk of time? Jay had cut a deal with the police giving false information in exchange not to bust him for the drug dealing and other crimes he had committed. The state had an out with Jay and they took it causing stories to change to match up to what the police needed to arrest Adnan. The police had ran out of suspects the only one that was left was Adnan and they had to put someone behind bars so the department did not look…

But, what the defense failed to bring to the court's attention is that on a fax cover sheet discovered by Susan Simpson, AT&T clearly states that incoming call information is not reliable for location of the phone, negating the prosecution's use of it being a tracking device for Adnan. Those AT&T records said Syed’s phone “pinged” a cellphone tower covering the park and nearby areas during calls he received at 7:09 p.m. and 7:16 p.m. on 13 January 1999. The calls were described by Syed’s current attorney as “the pillar of the state’s case” against him. In a court motion filed last August, Syed’s attorney, C Justin Brown, said the disclaimer should have barred prosecutors from using the cellphone records. Brown said the misuse of the records in the face of the “unambiguous warning” on AT&T’s cover sheet – and the failure of Syed’s original lawyer to do anything about this, amounted to prosecutorial misconduct and a denial of Syed’s right to due process. Although this evidence seems crucial to the case, Adnan's lawyer never brought this up at trial, one may think that his lawyer may not bring the evidence to trial is because the state didn’t present them the evidence. Also, in Jay’s interview with Intercept he states that the burial took place at midnight, making any significance the cell records had in placing Adnan near the burial site at seven p.m.…

Jay has been inconsistent with each story he has ever told. In each interview, he would change parts of the story he had previously shared. It is baffling to me that Adnan’s friend, Jay, a small town drug dealer, manages to convince the jury that he is a believable source in the murder case. It is likely that the reason the jurors had so much faith in Jay was because he was the only evidence the jury had to lean on. Other than Adnan’s handprint in Lee’s car, it would be ludicrous to say that Adnan murdered Hae Min Lee. During the first interview, Jay claimed that he heard Adnan say he wants to kill Hae Min Lee, then the next day he was shown Lee’s body and Jay helped Adnan get rid of it. In the next interview, Jay insists that Adnan mentioned a few weeks before, he would kill Hae Min Lee. Jay’s timeline, inconsistent as it is, shows that Hae Min Lee was strangled in the parking lot of Best Buy before 2:36 P.M. However, multiple eyewitnesses claimed to have seen Lee at school around that same time period of the same day. Jay also…

On January 13, 1999, tragedy struck when Hae Min Lee went missing after what seemed to be a normal day at Woodlawn High School in Baltimore, Maryland. Then on February 9, 1999, Lee’s body was found buried in Leakin Park, just a seven minute drive from the high school. Lee’s former boyfriend, Adnan Syed, was seventeen at the time of the murder and attended the same school as Lee. They had an on-and-off relationship that officially ended in December of their senior year, just one month before her disappearance. Syed remained the prime suspect in the case and was arrested on February 28, 1999 and charged with first-degree murder. Throughout the trial, the prosecution claimed that Syed was so broken after the break-up, that he murdered Lee out of rage. Lee’s diary was brought in as evidence as she wrote about Syed’s behavior after the break up and details of their relationship. The prosecution also summoned a witness that spoke of Syed’s suspicious behavior, leading up to and after the murder. There were several pieces of key evidence and convincing claims presented in the 1999-2000 trial. The prosecution’s work convinced the jury to produce Syed’s guilty verdict, sentencing him to life in prison.…

Its January 13th and Hae leaves school around 3pm to pick up her younger cousins from their school, a responsibility she takes rather seriously. But, she never shows. Hae’s parents now become concerned as Hae is nowhere to be found, they call the cops. The cops begin their investigation by asking a few familiar faces about Haeś whereabouts. Roughly a month later on February 1st, 1999 the police investigating Hae's death received an anonymous call from a person who still remains a mystery to this day, saying ¨Look at the Ex-boyfriend, Adnan. He did it¨. Adnan and Hae dated for a while prior to her murder,…

All of the evidence points directly at Adnan. I honestly believe that they had just enough evidence to convict him of this murder. Let's start from the beginning. Adnan and Hae have history, They were very in love at one point in each others lives and would do anything for each other. Until it all ended, (mostly because of Adnan’s family).…

The reason the other side believes Adnan is guilty is because of one person; no, not Adnan himself; Jay, who says Adnan told him he was going to kill Hae. More importantly, Jay himself says that Adnan showed Hae’s body to him, as put: “I noticed that Hae wasn't with him. I parked next to him. He asked me to get out the car. I get out the car. He asks me, am I ready for this? And I say, ready for what?” And he takes the keys. He opens the trunk. And all I can see is Hae's lips are all blue, and she's pretzeled up in the back of the trunk. And she's dead.” (Episode I, Page 10). Jay is claiming to have been shown the body of Hae, and he is placing Adnan at the very scene of the crime. How believable is Jay, because according to Sarah and Bill Ritz, Jay’s story repeatedly keeps on changing. Sarah explains to the audience, “I put it to Bill Ritz when I talked to him briefly on the phone. Jay's story kept changing. You were catching the inconsistencies and he was having to explain them and clean up his story. So what ultimately made you believe him? Ritz said they believed Jay's story because “we were able to investigate and corroborate what he was saying.” (Episode 4, Page 68). Jay’s inaccuracies are either due the the fact that he…

    The Adnan Syed Case

Adnan was formally interviewed much sooner than six weeks after the fact. Lying about Hae needing to get back together with him is maybe the most chilling. This was a falsehood Adnan told the school nurse on the day the news broke that Hae's body had been found. He claimed to have addressed Hae the prior night she vanished and told the nurse that Hae "had wanted to get back together with him, that she still loved him, but that he didn’t want to get back into the relationship in that manner— that they would always be friends." (Source trial testimony of the nurse: http://postimg.org/picture/wz59tmc2p/) Given what we know of the telephone log from the night prior to the homicide, and the short discussion that Adnan had that AM with Hae, this does not seem to be accurate by any means. What is frightening is that it sounds all that much like what Hae likely let him know in the car just before he strangled her. There are obviously other accusing lies. Lying about requesting Hae for a ride on the day of the homicide (saw by two separate tenable witnesses and confirmed by Adnan to a cop that day). Lying about his car being occupied when requesting the ride. Lying about how he wasn't troubled by their breakup. Lying about where he was and it was not coordinating up with cell tower evidence, and taking from the group Mosque…

Adnan is in jail and knowing that he may or may not have done it, but Jay changed his story over and over, and Adnan said the same story and didn't change anything and when he thought of something he told them what he remembered. When someone asked Jay if he said something that he said before he would say that he didn't say that, which he did he changed his story to make him look innocent when he probably isn't. Jay should of got sometime in jail instead of no time because they didn't even think of when he helped Adnan dig the hole they didn't ask Adnan if he helped him or not they just went off of what Jay said and what Jay said probably isn't right.…
