Recess In High School
In Fifth grade my teacher's name was Mrs. Biro. My class was amazing and I had all my friends in that class. When it was recess we used to go outside and play basketball. The teams were always by classes. Sometimes it was Mrs. Biro vs Mrs. Toth team. We used to play tournament games and we won the tournament. It used to be so fun and then at the end of the day we used to play silent ball. Me and my friend Johny were the best at this game. The rules for this game was that, you had to be silent and had to catch the ball. So if one person passes the ball to you and you miss it, then you are out. After we play the silent ball game at the end of the day I had a safety job in the gym. I had to take care of my bus line so the nobody yells and other …show more content…
Everyday we used to have homework and if we didn't finish it then we can't go outside or play silent ball. The third week of school I didn't finish my homework and then I got a bad grade. Then Mrs. Biro told me that she wants to talk to me at recess. I was scared and I thought I got in big trouble. When recess happened Mrs. Biro told me that “I can work hard and she told me that I'm smart”. After that day I always did my homework and study for test and I got good grades every quarters. Every Friday in 5th grade we use to have pod 4 which meant that in the afternoon all of the three classes would get together and do some of the activities. One time we did the knitting and we had to make a pumpkin which we stuffed in and we made a pumpkin. Pod 4 was fun because all classes would meet and we can talk do whatever we want. When there were test me and my friends use to study and the library. When it was the last day of fifth grade the people who pass 5 star generals which is you have to take several test which are presidents, states, country and more. So on the graduation day the people who passed the 5 star generals were called first so my name was first and then after that we took pictures with the principal and our teacher. It was the saddest day of my life. Next year I was going to Discovery and I couldn't see my friends but then when im in 7th grade I moved and now I'm in Liberty Middle School and I saw all of my friends and it's been a great day at liberty. In the Summer I still went to my friends house and played with them it been a great summer. Thanks for everything and thank you for helping me in 5th

I stood there, standing on her front porch like an idiot. And she told me to leave. And there I was. I had done everything right. I got straight A's, I was on varsity soccer, I was the newspaper editor, I had tons of friends, and I wasn't good enough. I never was good enough for anything, was I? Everything I did was because I thought my parents would like me if I did it. Who was I? It wasn't until I was standing on those front steps, the house still shaking with the vibrations of a slammed door, when I realized I was never going to be good enough.…

Shoemaker’s class I had recess. Since my friends and I usually didn’t get down to the gym fast enough, we didn’t always get a ball to mess around with. So we instead decided to stay in her class during that time. We had loads of fun creating memories upon memories that will never be forgotten. Memories like when we put on impaired driving goggles and stumbled over everything. Memories of us eating all her yummy peanut butter filled pretzels and asking for help on assignments. I had grammar with a different teacher but if I did not understand something, I would ask Mrs. Shoemaker. She would always explain the homework to me. Also, if I had to write an essay she would help me and then look over it for mistakes. Making me a stronger person today, Mrs. Shoemaker never let me give…

Walters started off by asking me some questions about the mermaids in my room and why I liked them so much. So I was honest, I told her that they are different and unique because they have a tail. Then, we sat down on my bed and she said that I was very pretty and very special, which is something that I agree with. Once again she asked me a question that a lot of other people ask me. She said, “If people say to you are you a boy or a girl, what do you say?” I obviously told her that I am a girl because that is how I see myself no matter how anybody chooses to see me. I had to tell her about a picture that I drew when she asked if there was anything else in the room that I wanted to show her. I pointed to the picture and when she got up to get it, I told to her that the little girl was crying because she wanted to wear the dress to school, but Mommy wouldn’t let her. And now that Mommymy lets the little girl wear the dress to school she is happy. Accept that little girl in the end was me! Mrs. Walters talked more until I told her that I was ready to sing a song in front of everybody. The only song that I could think of came from Cinderella because that was the song we were singing in acting school these past couple of days. I tried my best to sing since I knew my voice was going to be bad because I was just coming off of a cold, but this is what I…

She told me to follow her to the office. We arrived to the office and she told me to have a seat. I saw her head to her desk and started dialing the phone to call someone. What killed me was because she called my mother and, she told my mother that she was writing expulsion papers. I had never been in trouble before so I was kind of nervous. I was afraid to see what my mom said about it. Long story short I got expelled in sixth grade behind the wrong crowd doing the wrong things. I already knew that wasn’t the path that I wanted to take so I had to change my plan up. I decided to go stay in New York with my cousin for a while. The Importance Of Recess

Did you know that recess helps students in school? Well, it's true! Although some parents think that recess just makes kids misbehave and fool around which is possible, most of the time recess has a very positive impact on students. I think that we should have a longer recess because students listen better after recess if they exercise more, because kids learn negotiation skills, exercise leadership, take turns, and learn to resolve conflict at recess and because recess has an good effect on academic performance.…

On the first day of seventh grade, I met the woman who changed my behavior and view on school. That day, in my supplemental skills class, I wasn’t following anything that my teacher said and she noticed. She called me to her desk and started to have a conversation with me. She knew me, but I had no idea who she was other than the name on the plaque. She said she was the head of a camp that I used to go to and that my…

While I was waiting, I looked around, and from the window, the sky became darker and darker as the cloud covered the last sunlight. I couldn’t breathe. In about twenty minutes, most parents were there. Then the head teacher started to talk about how seriously we did. She told in front of all these people: “she was the one who cheated teachers and brought her friends out of school. We teachers are responsible for your children’s safety in the school. But who is responsible for that once they are out? Jasmine, can you?” I was shocked. I did not think about that the teacher would blame me for all of this. Everyone in the office was staring at me, and my parents as well. I was ashamed, so ashamed that I wanted to hide, and I can’t stop my tears out. The teacher continued and talked to all of students: “I believed you because you are fifth grade. I thought you are old enough to distinguish right or wrong. But now, I am really disappointed at you guys.” We were still in elementary school, and we were so young to comfort ourselves in this situation. Most of the girls in our group began to sob like me.…

Then from there I knew I had to learn how to speak english i got to it and said to myself I better learn english before the school year is over and it happened within 8 months i could speak english. But that year was extremely hard for me I still remember every bit of it. I could not communicate with my teacher or my classmates. The only thing I did was sign language and it was luck if they understood what I was trying to say. Everyone liked me since I was different like they said. The memory i remember most is when it was the one hundredth day of school and we had to make a poster with a 100. I did mine with beans i outlined the one hundred. I forgot to put my name on the poster and the teacher ask whose it was and i didn’t know how to say in english it was mine. Then this girl who did not do her poster decided to say my poster was hers i was so mad and i got up and told her in spanish it was mine not hers. The teacher said yes it was mine and i got credit for it and the other girl got in trouble for lying. I had all F’s during that time but i was still proud of myself because I tried very hard and as the saying says hard work always pays off. Many people remember recess being the best part of the school day; it was a time to get outdoors, play on the swings and slides, and have fun with friends. Unfortunately, most elementary students today do not have this luxury. After the No Child Left Behind Act was passed in 2001, an estimated 40% of schools have cut recess, due to the push for more instructional time in order to improve academic progress (Gentry). The problem with this elimination is that research has found taking away unstructured play time for children can have negative effects. Recess for children is beneficial because it helps students learn better, suppresses the obesity epidemic, and improves emotional and social development.…

I did not say goodbye to my grandmother. She was not a home, so my mom said “you’re going on vacation you are coming back and I said fine”. It was a day, when I came to the mall with one of my brother and my sister in law. The phone of my sister in law rung. When she saw us was. I’m sorry and I said what? She was saying on the phone told them. He said not you did and my sister in law told us “your grandmother die. One of your cousin told to your brother”. My fist impression was; my cousin is lying that’s not truth. I could not believe it. I called my mother. She was crying she said “she died my mother die mija (daughter)” and could not said any word. I could not talk, just was on my mind, that I did not say goodbye to her. I didn’t go to see her. Every time that I go on vacation to Mexico, on my mind is that she is waiting for me, but the reality is that she is death. My father that day he told me; you have to be strong for your mother. It was hard for me, but god know what he does. Now, I have learned that I have to say goodbye to the people that I love. After five months, I became 15-year-old, my family gave me a computer and a cellphone, that it was a change in my life. It was my first computer. I remember was so…
