everyone to be quiet I thought, “Wow! You really think that is going to work?!” To my surprise it did! The class was soon a graveyard listening to Mrs. Shoemaker’s instructions for the day. By pulling the class back together that way I learned it does not have to take a loud, booming voice to make your point. Immediately after Mrs.
Shoemaker’s class I had recess. Since my friends and I usually didn’t get down to the gym fast enough, we didn’t always get a ball to mess around with. So we instead decided to stay in her class during that time. We had loads of fun creating memories upon memories that will never be forgotten. Memories like when we put on impaired driving goggles and stumbled over everything. Memories of us eating all her yummy peanut butter filled pretzels and asking for help on assignments. I had grammar with a different teacher but if I did not understand something, I would ask Mrs. Shoemaker. She would always explain the homework to me. Also, if I had to write an essay she would help me and then look over it for mistakes. Making me a stronger person today, Mrs. Shoemaker never let me give
up. Soon Mrs. Shoemaker became one of my biggest role models. She taught me patience and perseverance. Also, her technique of teaching showed me a new way of dealing with problems effectively. Who knows what agonies my patience has kept me from enduring?
