Amber was finally graduating high school. She could not wait for it to come any faster. I told her that she needed to slow down and not grow up so fast, but here she was graduating high school. Amber graduated with honors and in the top ten. I was so glad that she followed in her mother’s footsteps. Accepted to Juilliard for dance, Amber left that following August. I cried the whole time I watched that plane leave. New York was a long way from home.

Charles wanted to perform on broadway and asked Amber to go with him. That was six years ago. The mother of the bride was never to be nervous, but I was. Thoughts swirled around my mind that first day I received the invitation. Amber was my gift from God. He, Himself, had put her in my path. I did not know how I felt giving her up. Emmett told me that Amber will always be our blessing, but that it was time to allow someone else a blessing. I caved; as soon as I saw Emmett give Amber away, I knew, I knew that my blessing had been passed to someone else.
After Amber’s wedding, Emmett and I decided to take some time off of work and return to Bora Bora. We spent more than a month revisiting all of the tourist destinations we had once visited years prior. I was so surprised to see all of the changes to our favorite spots. It made me think about how much I have changed in all these years. I had been given a wonderful man, three beautiful blessings, and my dream.
