A recording engineer helps to produce a recording or a performance, editing and adjusting sound tracks using equalization and audio effects, mixing, reproduction, and reinforcement of sound.
Mixing may involve changing tempos, adding more bass or treble, changing any volume levels, and adding beats.
The recording engineer will mix music and tracks to make them sound just right.

After a recording is complete, the musician, their producer, and the recording engineer will listen to the track and suggest anything that could be changed or added. This is another time when mixing comes in.
While recording in the studio, the recording engineer will need to be friendly with the musician to make them comfortable. He or she will also need to pay a lot of attention to detail in order to make the best music. Paying attention also involves taking notes on what the musician wants. Taking notes is also important for the recording engineer to know how they made a certain sound.
