In summary, it is like the sun in the solar system, it is in the center and everything else revolves around it. It is especially important to me that I bring recovery into everything that I perform in life. Meditation, prayer, God, and my sponsor are all included in my daily routine. I incorporate them into everything, as I know that if I did not, I would not be in the right mindset and it would be easier for my addict thinking to try to take back over. I have the ability to rewire my erstwhile thinking and injurious habits through the tools that the twelve steps have offered me. I bring recovery with me to work, meetings, the gym, or when I travel to visit my family. These are only a few of the main areas that I include my recovery in, I always strive to include it in every little aspect of my life, but since I happen to be a human, I do not achieve it perfectly. Although I generate mistakes, I never allow my imperfections to stand in the way of my success nor do I employ them as excuses to not accomplish anything to my full potential. Recovery has helped me create new friendships and rebuild previous relationships that I had ultimately destroyed throughout my addiction. It allows me to be an effective employee when I show up to work by being reliable and showing up on time for work. It enables me to be the son that I need to be for my parents. It also gives me the chance to be aware of the present moment through meditation and be there for anyone that asks for help in a time of need. There are countless numbers of features that recovery gives me access to that I remained unable to access during my period of addiction. I have learned so much about myself during my recovery that has helped build me into the person I remain to be today, but I know that I am only at the beginning of my journey and that I always have the opportunity to grow from new experiences. I remain extremely grateful for everything I have been given
