Red Wolf

The Red Wolf was almost extinct in the wilderness due to loss of habitat and hunting. The Red Wolf is killed in the wild because of human mistaking them for a coyote due to their almost similar physical characteristic. Human development also contributed to the loss of red wolves. Although, recent efforts to recover them back in the wilderness have helped them to slowly bring back their numbers, there are still present and future threat to its survival. For example, the interbreeding between the coyote and the red wolf remained a constant threat to the recovery of the red wolves. For the red wolves to not perished, they need a pure breed red wolf to keep the restoration of the red wolves possible. With no pure breed red wolf it
is likely that they will go extinct one day. Diseases such as mange, hookworm and heartworm is also a threat to its survival, like us humans, wolves and other animal can die from diseases. Negative Human interaction, such as hunting and roadkill, is also a major threat to the recovery of the red wolf. One death of a red wolves have a bad impact on the red wolves population.
