What is a Redneck?
Merriam-Webster (citation www.merriam-webster.com) defines a redneck as a white person who lives in a small town or in the country especially in the southern U.S., who typically has a working-class job, and who is seen by others as being uneducated and having opinions and attitudes that are offensive. With only one sentence, I would say that is a fairly accurate appraisal for what we envision rednecks to be. However, this is not all that a redneck is, or can be.
As a society, we have come to view the word redneck in both a positive and negative light. For instance, if there is a wrong to be righted there is no better person to fight on your side than a redneck. While their methods are not always sophisticated and possibly not even safe, they will fight to the bitter end for what they believe is right. If you are ever to find yourself in the middle of the zombie apocalypse there should be a redneck around. They are known for tracking, hunting, and trapping live game. They are also good with weaponry that would be essential if you were also being tracked, and hunted as the live game, by said zombie. They know how to live off the land and can survive in many different types of situations.

They believe in support of the country in which they live. Many of this country’s workforce consists of redneck workers. One may argue that this country was built on the sweat of a redneck’s red neck
Although, the word Redneck has a negative impact for good reason as well. Rednecks are notorious for being judgmental and racist against those who are not like them and do not share their same
