Theology 104 D81
Reflection Paper Two
Introduction:
Over the entirety of Theology 104, the topics that were discussed were vast. Though many caught my attention and peaked my interest, the two that I choose to expound on in this paper are pastor and character development. These two matters are very crucial to living a Christian life.
Part One: Pastor –
Theological Definition: A Pastor an individual the leads a congregation of people in the direction of Holy Spirit. It is an individual that is trusted with God’s people to spiritually guide them. Being a pastor comes with great responsibility, and it also comes with great love. Being a pastor means that you’re there to tend to your group. Being a pastor, I am sure of the many hats that you wear, but there is not greater joy than being entrusted with God’s children.
Biblical Foundation: The Bible says, “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.” (Hebrews 13:17) God has placed these leaders in the church to lead us and guide us. Jeremiah 3:15 says, “Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Pastors are essentially and play such a vital role.
