What was the author saying about life and living through this book?
I think what the author was saying life is really hard and sometimes it knocks you know and you don't know if you can go on that sounds cliche but it is true. He is telling us that if made it through his incredibly hard story that has scarred him for life and still haunts him. He is showing us that we can make it through rough times too if we just don't give up and continue to have positive thoughts and be confident in yourself to execute whatever journey you are on and to do it well. How would you have responded if your rights were being abused? Would you have done the same things as the character? Why or why not?
I saw rights being abused in this book when the soldirs striped all of then down of their clothing and threw their clothes into a fire. I also saw ishmael getting his rights violated when he was essentially forced to do drugs like marijuana and brown brown. Tis was violating because they were making him do things he was uncomfortable with and did not consent to. If i were in this situation i would have tried as hard as i could to stand up for my rights but if it came to point that i couldn't anymore i would probably end up doing the
