During my deployment, I would built mission forecasts every morning and ask all section leads to discuss and find the most efficient way to preposition manpower and resources. It was actually very rewarding experience because I was able to empower them with intellectual stimulation (VL04, FRL, 2016), to brainstorm among themselves, came up with creative approaches to move cargo, and create more effective solutions to effectively utilize very limited resources in a very busy airfield, and successfully accomplish missions. …show more content…
However, Often times, I exercised dispositional flexibility (VL04, Change Management, 2017), I treated this as an opportunity for other cargo we are holding to go to the new destination of the aircraft. I would take the initiative to call the dispatchers, and ask them to allow us to utilize the opportunity of rerouted mission to move other cargo, so they can get to the intended destination quicker than scheduled, and this benefited many operations in the AOR, and maximized the resource utilization. When I was in Kandahar, I accidentally hit a parked vehicle with my van, no one saw the accident other than two other NCOs riding with me. Although they suggested that I should just drive away, I took a picture, wrote down my info and left it on the windshield, upon returning to the flight line, then I reported the accident to the superintendent. I did not blindly agree to other’s view, I thought for myself and practiced Intellectual Autonomy (EL05, Critical Thinking,
