Many people use "Human Resource Management," "Human Resource Development" and "Human Resources" interchangeably, HR is the term to refer to all of these phrases. Human Resources is the department that deals with issues related to people such as compensation, hiring, and performance management, organization development, safety, wellness, benefits, employee motivation, communication, administration, and training. Human Resources in my opinion, is the blood stream of the corporation. It directly feeds and maintains all other departments. It is through Human Resource that a company communicates the goals and achievements to the employees. Human Resource Management is the responsibility of the person or team that leads the Human Resource team. To be a successful business I have learned that the company must have a great Human Resources Management (HRM). As a future leader, I learned how to support Human Resources (HR) with business plans. I have recognized the impact of external and internal environments within the company; design HR systems to promote positive behaviors among employees, establish staffing and compensation systems to attract, retain and encourage the best employees, understand employee relations, manage change during difficult times and influence these strategic HR skills that add important value to business decision-making. As society and organizations grow and become more complex, HRM functions continue to expand into many areas vital to organizational growth and success. To understand and apply human resource functions it must cover Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action, Human Resource Planning, Recruitment, Selection, Human Resource Development, Compensation and Benefits, Safety and Health, and Employee Labor and Relations. I have learned that it doesn’t take one tool but takes all of these tools to accomplish the mission. In this paper I will reflected on what I have learned in this class but I explain how my own company…

Chapter 10 is entitled Conflict Management in Groups. This is a very essential chapter for all members of a group to read and understand. Fortunately, my group members and I have not had a problem with getting along. It just so happened that four members of my group already know each other from another class they are in together. So, they already got along and had some connection with one another. I think we all have good personalities and we enjoy working with each other. The characteristics of our group allow us to be a successful group. The semester is coming to an end, and we have worked hard together to perform all tasks and accomplish all our goals. As it was mentioned, determining pricing strategies is a valuable process that businesses benefit from. In an oligopoly, a business using a high-price strategy would be more effective if the competitor’s pricing was also a high-price strategy. The same concept applies to companies with a low-pricing strategy. Oligopolies acting independently may mutually end up with competitively low-price strategies (McConnell, Brue, & Flynn, 2009). Organizations in a monopolistic competition can set prices and output levels to maximize the company’s profit, without as many rivals as an oligopoly market structure. In an oligopoly, an organization uses pricing models such as the kinked-demand curve, collusive pricing, and price leadership. In a monopolistic market, a company uses price, product, and advertising to reach organizational goals of maximizing profit (McConnell, Brue, & Flynn, 2009). In addition, the demand curve of an organization is an important factor in…

Christianity is a religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. In the last couple terms I have taken a few other religion classes. With taking these classes, I realized many of the preconceived notions I had about Christianity and its true meanings. When looking at myself, I sometimes do not live the way a Christian should. I was not brought going to church, or reading the Bible with my parents or family members. So as of today I have been changing, but not hold heartily given my heart completely to my God. My interaction with each of these courses has had a profound effect of how I would like to change by gaining more knowledge of the Bible and its teachings. My faith and beliefs have been challenged, not for the worse but actually for the better, which showed me how not to fall short of The Lord and his Glory. In this reflection paper, I hope to give insight on what I have learned, and also giving my personal opinions to each topic. My topics of discussion and reflection are first “Did Jesus need to be born of a Virgin? and “Does it matter how Christians liver their life?”…

I have been a part of many groups, whether they were academic or work-related. I have had many issues that have caused conflict in these groups settings. A conflict that comes up a lot is how to deal with someone who is not pulling his/her load on the current project. This always leads to excuses about how the person has a much more hectic life than the others in the group and can even lead to pointing out other members’ flaws. Another conflict that can arise is when a “quieter” member of the group doesn’t speak up when he doesn’t agree with someone. This leads to this person developing resentment towards the more outspoken members of the group. It will tend to come out in different ways so this person can vent their frustration and in-turn could be responsible for squashing a tremendous idea. I believe before a group can truly work together, it must bridge the gaps between the different personality types by getting to know one another. This does not necessarily mean meeting socially with the group, in fact this could bring more conflicts into the group that were not otherwise there. I think in order to keep the conflicts simple and manageable the group should stay away from meeting socially.…
