Kondrat 1999 found evidence that objectiveness comes from a distance between the ‘subject self and object self’. This relates to the first case study of counsellor belief system; the counsellor is biased of the clients marriage breakdown and has their own beliefs from their past relationship and is very one sided with their opinion; “...counsellor believes that everybody is hiding something significant...” and “...most relationships will fall apart in the long run...”. In contrast, White, Fook and Gardener 2006 define critical reflection as an individual that views their behaviours, takes into consideration the cultural history circumstances, examine their beliefs and changes their behaviour. This relates to the second belief system of the counsellor because the counsellor is taking into consideration their own social awareness and personal beliefs and trying to alter their behaviour and how they interact with them.
