In Congo, Violence is a critical issue why refugees move to other countries. Women experience physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime. During war or other humanitarians crises the risks to women and girls are harsh. With the breakdown of moral and social order that occurs during emergencies, women and girls are particularly vulnerable to physical abuse and exploitation, rape and human trafficking. Perpetrators may be family members, neighbours or others in the community, members of armed groups or, in some instances, humanitarian workers.
Separation of children from their families is a common issue that has negative consequences for the children who are separated. If separation occurs, it is important to document the separation and attempt to reunite the child with his/her family (if this is in the best interest of the child). A strong family support network is essential to the proper growth and development of children in general, but especially those living in refugee camps. In the refugee camps there are still children who are dying because of malaria. However, most of these deaths are caused by ignorance of parents on how to protect their children
