Dracula vs Medical Science Science dates back to the beginning of time. From medieval times to the middle ages to nineteenth century, science has evolved tremendously. Researching on past medical science myths along with procedures, what scientists and doctors believed and how they treated and the procedures that were performed on their patients represent a very dark time in medical science history. Just like in literature, some stories represent a dark and mysterious time in history. For example, Bram Stoker’s classic novel, Dracula, embodies the aspect of how vampires act on every human's fear of death, along with our one dying wish of living eternally. As time has gone on, the association between the two topics has not been lost. Medical science advancing, vampires did not die off or disappear but instead they rapidly increased and progressed enough to take over many complex roles in today's popular literature, still having their undying desired ability to defeat death. Nowadays, in literature most of the time doctors are involved in the never ending battle against vampires and their ability to defeat science. Vampires being human yet having the life longevity is medically unheard of making them cases of medical questioning and speculation. In most cases, doctors in literature end up associating vampires as enemies or onlookers, defining science and its achievements for good or evil, which are imposed by the vampire of the story. Scientists end up realizing the conclusive and healing value of science, while simultaneously having much doubt on the capability of science when the world is undoubtedly controlled by mystifying supernatural
