There once was a time when African Americans and Whites were segregated for generations, but it was time for a change. This inspiring story, Remember the Titans, shows in a example of change. A group of high school football players had to learn to respect each other regardless of the color of their skin. Although many did protest, the football players prevailed and became of symbol of unity in the area. This lead to an inspiring message that no matter how different one is, you can still overcome and be united as one. Overall the movie was extremely touching and inspiring, the characters grew to have a special bond, and the music was wonderful. The inspiring movie Remember the Titans touched me very deeply. It was set in 1971 when they began integrating schools. They endured great hardships having to learn to understand and respect each other. The most heartfelt moment for me, was the hospital scene where Gerry Bertier was recovering from his accident and he asked for “his brother.” Julius walked into the room and the nurse said, “ Only kin's allowed in here.” Bertier responded saying, ”Alice, are you blind? They had to learn to understand each other's decision and try and unify these two completely different races. The team struggled with it unifying each other as one, but the team began prevailing and showing that they could do it. Although, they still endured difficulties along the way from protesters who were against it. The team unified themselves and began a winning streak. The team was the symbolism of unity in the community. It is incredible that a group of football players/coaches became the symbol of unification in a community leading to greater things in the
