Remember The Titans Theme Analysis

The theme of Remember The Titans is that no one should be treated like their race doesn't matter. In the beginning, the theme starts to develop when the coach brings them to a camp to make them work together. They all have to spend the rest of the day with a player of a different race, but if they don't get along, Coach Boone will make the team go to two-three day practices. When the team comes back from camp, the parents were still being racist. When the team plays their first few games, the town's citizens come to the games and cheers for them. The theme continues to develop in the middle of the movie when the team begins to treat each other with respect and as if race doesn't matter. When Sunshine tries to take the team out to a restaurant,
the manager kicks them out and doesn't let them back in. One night Coach Boone has Sheryl come over to play with his daughter and someone throws a brick through his window. The next day, Coach Yoast talks to Coach Boone about the incident, and Coach Boone says, " I don't scratch my head unless it itches and I don't dance unless I hear some music. I will not be intimidated."
