In those years, a Roman astronomer named Ptolemy, captured that idea and shaped it into his own, also known as The Geocentric Universe of Ptolemy. Ptolemy’s theory was soon adopted by many of the astronomers from his time. Decades later in the time of the Renaissance, Nicolaus Copernicus discovered that this is false. Through his extensive research and mathematical calculations, Copernicus came to the conclusion that in fact the Earth revolved around the sun. Today, through one of the largest space programs, NASA, we have also adopted this theory.
