The Renaissance was a time of change and discovery in many fields during the 15th and 16th centuries. There is no question to whether or not it should be considered an artistic and intellectual revolution. The times we live in today began with the Renaissance; it was the beginning of a new age. It affected literature, philosophy, art, politics, science; and above all, religion.

During this time, people began to question the church, taking up their own thoughts and opinions of the world and God. One of the most influential forces of the Renaissance was the rebirth of Humanism, the belief that every human being has capacity to reason.
