Introduction
This report investigates poverty around the world and considers whether all the people around the world have realized about poverty in Africa these days.
The report gathered information from the following sources :
* 300 questionnaires are sent to the people and we received 278 completed surveys. * Reviewing statistical data about poverty in Africa from official institutions website. * Reading some books about lifestyle, poverty, etc..
Facts and Findings 1. Almost half the world over three billion people live on less than $2.50 a day. 2. About 824 million people go hungry or have a precarious food supply; 500 million of them suffer from chronic malnutrition. 3. Approximately 10.8 million children under die each year in Africa. 4. More than 50% of the worlds population is exposed to Malaria. 5. Less than 50% of Africa’s population has access to hospitals or doctors. 6. In 2000, 300 million Africans did not have access to safe water. 7. The New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) and the African Union (AU) are aiming to tackle HIV/AIDS, reduce poverty, and sustain long-term economic growth. 8. A lot of charity and social organization have been trying to help Africa’s people from poverty, health, and hygine. 9. Nowadays, Africa's poverty rate dropped by nearly 10 per cent over a three-year period, according to a report launched on Tuesday by the United Nations and regional partners. 10. There’re a millennium development goals for Africa, one of them is end poverty and hunger in 2015.
Conclusion
Indeed, the poverty levels are still high in Africa. But, there’re a lot of groups of people, social organization, world official institutions, nations, which joined hands together to help Africa out from these tough conditions.
