INTRODUCTION

A. Background of the Study

A dream is one of the main ingredients that complete the personality of someone. It may not be clear for now but in time, it will be. The researchers conducted this study to help people figure it out and achieve what they really want in life. They have given some tips and advices on how people will attain their dreams successfully. They also gave some attitudes that can attract success.

The researchers chose the topic “goals” from the novel The Alchemist for its being interesting that everyone can relate. This study can motivate everyone to strive hard to fulfill their plans in life. This would be a big help to those people who are confused to come up with the decision on what path they are to take.

B. Statement of the Problem

The purpose of this study is to make people realize what they really want to achieve in their lives. The purpose of this study is to answer the following questions:

1. How does Santiago’s realization of his dream related to how people achieve their dreams in real life?

2. What are the tips and advices that can help in achieving dreams?

3. How to develop the attitudes that can attract success?

C. Significance of the Study

This part of the study discusses the importance of the following:

a) To students: The proposed study serves as guide to students in achieving their goals in life. It will also help the students to have a better future by following the right track.

b) To future researcher: The proposed study will help the future researcher to have an overview why chose this topic so they can also improve this study.

c) To those people who are still confused what kind of life they want to have and the track they want to take.

D. Scope and Limitations

The scope of the study is about attaining goals. The researchers focus on how to achieve someone’s target in life. The researchers are going to
