Dance has been around for centuries, many of the early stages began as dancing to ask gods for harvest and water. The unique thing about dance is that everyone has different interpretation of it, just like any other form of art. The music and dance movements play a huge role in understanding the dancers piece. The music used and the dance moves flow perfectly with each delicate movement. The amazing thing about dance is how the dancer can merge their emotions through the movement and the music. These two important influences give us a free pass to analyze the words they are trying to express through movement alone. On February 31st, 2017 we took an out of class trip to view an amazing performance given by students here at the Miami Dade College.

The light expression of her movements, even her outfit seemed to flow along her beautiful movement. The type of dance she did was something I have never seen live, the dance to me was lyrical. The piece of music she selected was both smooth and slow. When she heard certain pieces of the song she danced in sync, with the dynamics of the music. In a way the dance moves were her interruption to the music although it might not fully be the idea she is trying to express. The dancer came alive as she danced her heart out, you can see how the expressions on her face, how involved she was with the piece. To me the best thing about this type of dance is that the music is a huge factor to how the dancer moves, and tries to express what she felt the moment she created her work.
