In WIlliam shakespeare’s play “A Midsummer NIght's Dream”. Lysander and Hermia and Demetrius and Helena both experience the course of love not running smoothly. Some of the characters have problems in their love lives. There is a love triangle going on with these four people. Love is defined in the dictionary as an intense feeling of deep affection but in this play ,they have weird problems going on. “A Midsummer NIght's Dream” is mostly a romantic play about love struck relationships that deal with lust , jealousy , and revenge. “The course of true love never did run smooth”, says lysander of love’s complication in exchange with Hermia.Although in the play “A Midsummer Night's Dream” mostly deals with the difficulty
of romance , it not like another play romeo and juliet the play that shakespeare also wrote. Well shakespeare shares the story with us he intentionally distances the audience from there emotions of the characters so he can capricious and irrational nature of love. An example of true love can be shown with lysander and Hermia. Lysander and Hermia truly love each other . Both love each other with every ounce of their body. I think that Hermia is the one that speaks more completely, eloquently, and most compassionate in this play about love than any other character. .". Now much beshrew my manners and my pride If Hermia meant to say Lysander lied. But, gentle friend, for love and courtesy, Lie further off, in humane modesty. Such separation as may well be said becomes a virtuous bachelor and a maid, so far be distant; and good night, sweet friend. Thy love ne'er alter till thy sweet life end." (Act. 2 ) This clearly shows Hermia's most eloquently thought out words when she talks about love to Lysander.
