Helena is in love with Demetrius, who is planned to wed Hermia, and does not love Helena. Helena does many things throughout the play trying to get Demetrius to love her. Helena thinks that if she can get Demetrius to be angry at Hermia that he would love her again. “So how can I say I am alone when the whole world is here to look at me?” (pg. 47) Helena sees Demetrius as her world, but he can’t even look at her without feeling sick.
Six village workers were chosen to put on a play for Theseus and Hippolyta’s wedding. The play they must preform is about two lovers who are separated by a wall. When they go to meet a lion scares away Thisbe and tears up her cloak. When Pyramus finds that Thisbe is not there, and that her cloak is all torn up, he kills him self.
