Wegener supporting points to his claim by describing how the same rocks, animals, fossils and plants can be found on different continents today. He stated that there was no way animals, rocks and plants could swim to other continents so that explains why continents must have been part of one large one.
Wegner theories
were later proven by geoscientist studying the ocean sea floor they could see the continents didn’t have to plow through rock to move. Geoscientist discovered that continents were being pulled along, through the Mid-Atlantic ridges, deep sea trenches and mid-ocean ridges, which are seams of underwater volcanoes. Scientist later took these findings and came up with name plate tectonics, which support Wegener idea of a continental drift (Pangaea).
