to study but for people to explore and learn for themselves. Costa Rica is a great reminder of how amazing the environment of tropical forests is and the animals live there.
The word ecosystem means blank. Costa Rica is a great example of how these systems work together. When describing and looking at the Costa Rica’s rainforests when can use the Köppen climate classification. Costa Rica can be put into GROUP A: Tropical/megathermal climates. This type of area is known to have constant high temperatures. Scientists label the Costa Rica’s rainforests as Biodiversity hotspots. A Biodiversity hotspot is a place where is biodiversity is threatened to be destroyed. Today, there are lots of dangers of things such as deforestation and other environmental threats. Seeing the amazing biodiversity in these forests makes people see the beauty and why its important keep these places unharmed and preserved.
The seasons in Costa Rica is usually catalogued by how much rainfall that certain period had. The weather of Costa Rica can be divided into two types, which is the dry season and the rainy season. The dry season is from December to April while the rainy season is May to November. These tropical climates are known to have high temperatures. Inside these rainforests, there is a great diversity of different species. The most species of animals of Costa Rica can be found in rainforests. The rainforests is a place where there are many plants and fungi. The rainforests of Costa Rica is also a place where there is a lot of precipitation, which makes it a good place for plants to grow. The rainforest can host small plants and huge trees that can reach as high as 190 feet like the Ceiba Tree.
The same can be said about the animal life of Costa Rica’s rainforests. There are small animals such as blank and big animals that live in these forests. Costa Rica is not that big in size but the area is filled with huge variety of biological diversity. For example, there is 12,00 species of plants in Costa Rica. There are also volcanic mountain ranges in Costa Rica. The climate of Costa Rica is called tropical.
There are different types of forests in Costa Rica.
The first type is tropical dry forest. This first type is sparsely vegetated and has layers of shrubs there. There is not a lot of rain in this area from November through March. It looks different from tropical rainforest in that it looks drier and there is less moisture. The next one is the tropical rainforest. This area has lots of rain and there is sunshine all the time. The temperature is also high which last all year. This is an ideal place for plants to grow because the atmosphere is humid. Humid means that blank. All different types of things grow such as flora and blank. There is also lots of flora in the tropical rainforests. Next there is mangrove swamps. There are also different types of mangroves. A mangrove is where different types of plants and shrubs grow in saline water. Add a good site …show more content…

Then there are cloud forests. A Cloud forest is when there is clouds and mist in high elevations. Cloud forests are known to have lots of humidity. These high elevation places stay covered in clouds. Much of the precipitation in these forests is clouds and the constant mist. The clouds and the mist in these areas are so dense and thick that even the sun does not shine through. The clouds are dissolved by the forest and are used for water that is used by animals and plants. There is also rain in these areas. The rain is usually constant. Because there is lots of moisture in these forests, it makes it a good place for biodiversity. In addition, because there is not a lot of heat from the sun it provides lots of moisture, which is perfect for plants. The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is named the largest cloud forest in Central America. One of the best places in Costa Rica to spot these forests is the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. The biodiversity is very high in these particular forests. There is over 2,500 species inside. There are also 100 species of mammals, 120 reptiles and 400 types of bird species. Then there is the paramo of Costa Rica, A paramo, which mean a high, treeless plateau. Inside the paramo of Costa Rica, the areas are dominated by low shrubs and grasses. Lastly, there are the beautiful coral reefs of Costa Rica. Animals and plant life populate the coral reefs.
Inside Costa Rica’s forests, there is a variation of different types of weather. For example, Manuel Antonio, Jaco and Puntarenas are famous for its high temperatures and humidity. While on the other spectrum there are colder forests such in the Northern Pacific Coast. Not all forest is the same. Each forest can have its own equine weather. In these tropical rainforests, there is rainfall every day. Give a site that tells you about why each forest has different weather.
One of the best things about Costa Rica’s forests is that there is wildlife everywhere. However, each region of land has different species of plants and animals. Each forest will have different types of species. Costa Rica’s forests are one of the best places to see animals and plant life because there is so many species of animals living there. There are also unique animals that only live in these forests. Some of the animals in Costa Rica’s forests can be found nowhere else in the world. Some of the animals that live in the Costa Rica’s rainforests are butterflies. Costa Rica has a huge amount of different butterflies. There is reported to be about 1,251 species of butterflies in Costa Rica. There are many butterflies around the world but they can be seen prominently in tropical rainforests. The environment of tropical rainforests is good for butterflies because of the weather. Butterflies look for places and environments that are not cold. One of the popular butterflies of Costa Rica’s rainforests is the Blue Morpho. This butterfly is known for its blue colored wings.
Another animal that is unique to Costa Rica is the tiny poison dart frog. These frogs are small but they can be very poisonous. Scientists call them one of the most toxic and poisonous species. Scientists say that the tiny poison dart frogs have enough poison to kill 20,000 mice. There is a variety of different reasons why these animals are so poisonous but scientists believe that the frogs get their toxicity from the insect and plants that they capture and eat. Scientists believe this because of a study of poison dart frogs that were fed non-poisonous plants were not poisonous. Therefore, their conclusion was that the types of plants that the frogs were eating were the cause of why they were poisonous.
Another type of animal that is prominent in Costa Rica rainforest is the monkey of the area.
There are four different types of monkeys that live in Costa Rica's rainforests. There is the squirrel monkey, which are in the lowlands, the spider monkey, and the howler monkey. The howler monkey is quetinic in that blank.
Costa Rica is also a host to a large diverse variety of plants and trees. There are also trees that are unique to Costa Rica such as Cocobolo. This is a much sought after and has become scarce. Many people are concerned about this and are worried about it becomes endangered.
Some of the weather disasters that can happen in Costa Rica are earthquakes, landslides, hurricanes and active volcanoes. Another unique feature of Costa Rica is their volcanoes. There are different volcanoes but one of the most famous is the Arenal Volcano, which is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. It has been active and making laba since 1968. This volcano has been a concern for people because people reside near the volcano. Before 1968, many people believed that the volcano was extinct. However, the volcano has now been active since
1968.
