Goldfish compete for food and space.
Goldfish compete for space because they all need a place to lay their eggs. Goldfish compete for food because a lot of them are looking for the same foods. Even though they have many choices for what they can eat, there are a lot of goldfish and most will be looking for the same thing. Goldfish have no competition for water because they all live in water. For protection goldfish will flee when a hand or net comes near them. When they’re in captivity there tank will protect them from other animals.
Goldfish communicate through body language and pheromones (“answers.yahoo.com”). Goldfish adaptations are that they used to be silver on color but over the years slowly they started to be orange (Curious Kids Press Goldfish).
Endangerment is when there is limited numbers of that species left. A goldfish is not an endangered species. Ways to prevent it from becoming so goldfish from becoming endangered; if you buy one as a pet take good care of it, and tell people about them and what they are doing that could hurt one, and learn more about them. Extinction is when all of the animals from the specific species die out and there are no more of that species left. Goldfish are not endangered and not becoming extinct. Ways to prevent goldfish from extinct don’t kill them and learn about them, research them. What humans can do to help is don’t liter. Littering can kill animals because they think its food when really it’s your
trash.
Goldfish are amazing and can do more than most people think. They are wonderful and fascinating animals that get over looked so much some people don’t even think of them as pets. And if they keep getting overlooked the will become extinct, and it would be really sad.
