The Five Pillars of Islam The 'Five Pillars ' of Islam are the foundation of a Muslim 's life. Islam is the fastest growing nation and the religion spread rapidly throughout the first two hundred years. Initially, Islam grew by force, and then slowly evolved into a peaceful way of cultivating through missionaries. Today, the two largest Islamic countries are Indonesia and Malaysia. The Five Pillars come from the Qur 'an, the last of all scriptures. According to Muslims, being the last of all scriptures, the Qur 'an is believed to be a correction and conformation of the other scriptures such as from Judaism and Christianity. The Five Pillars are Shahadah, Salah, Zakat, Sawm, and Hajj which are the major obligations or pillars of faith that each Muslim must fulfill in his or her lifetime and they are all found in the Qur 'an. …show more content…
