Respect
Respect Respect is a definition that has many meanings and aspects to it. But what meanings that means the most to me is family, yourself and your peers. Respect comes with trust, obedience and integrity. Those meanings all together have not only a personal meaning but also a reflection on me and to others as well. Here’s an explanation of how all these meanings come together to define the word respect. First off, family is the most important part of life. If you don’t learn respect from your family then you won’t have respect for yourself or others. It doesn’t matter what part of your family it is, could be your father, mother, sister, brother it doesn’t matter you should always respect them. For instance, you and your mom could get into an argument whether it be about money, going out , or not doing chores you should always be obedient and respectful to them. If you do not learn to be obedient to your mother or father then you won’t obey orders from your superiors. Now if you don’t respect your siblings then you won’t respect your friends or your fellow soldiers. Take this for example, if you and your brother can’t work together about getting a chore done or even if you and him play in a sport you must respect your siblings so that you can learn values that can lead you to work well with others and be a team player. With all the examples that has been given just sum up a small portion of what respect means. With family respecting your elders, parents and your siblings all can lead to being great to work with others, and that you are able to conduct yourself in a manner that will also get you respect in the end.
Secondly respecting yourself has a lot of meaning behind it. If you don’t respect yourself you cannot learn to respect others. You should learn at a young age that having confidence in yourself and learning from your mistakes also can make you have that self-respect. For example, if you are in the middle of a quiz and you can’t seem to find the

From past experiences I have learned the real meaning of respect. This word is more powerful than one can imagine. With respect comes unselfishness. When people respect others, they are treated equally. My mother and father always told me to be tactful in the way I treated others, so I would also be respected. It has worked in the past and will always hold true in the future. If someone respects another with proper judgment, people feel good inside which gives them a sense of integrity. When I give respect and witness how it makes others feel, I feel like more of a person. I feel proud. Honored.…

Respect, especially in the Army is a very important value to live by. It is much more than just talking kindly and listening to someone. It is the process of taking into consideration someone’s emotions, feelings and needs. You must also focus on their ideas, thoughts, and preferences. It is showing someone that you value their time; that you care what they have to say. Showing someone respect allows that person to know and acknowledge that you are tracking them and that you comprehend and believe in what they are saying, It is important to allow someone to feel your respect for them. It will ease the conversation and create trust. Behavior and attitude will allow the person demanding respect to feel that respect. When we respect each other, there are fewer conflicts. Respect; a topic people tend to have many different opinions on in terms of its definition. Some people live with the Idea that, respect is as respect does.
