Respiratory Therapist: A Case Study

This proposal is intended to evaluate and assess the competency levels for all newly hired Respiratory Therapy employees at South Nassau Communities Hospital. A Respiratory Therapist (RT) plays a huge role in the hospital setting. An RT is responsible for many duties throughout the hospital, which includes managing airways during a cardiac arrest event, giving proper medications to patients with respiratory complications, ventilator management, and various other responsibilities. All new employees need to demonstrate efficiency in all aspects listed in the job description to be a successful candidate. The methods that I intend to utilize for this workshop are primarily hands on and a flipped classroom instructional strategy. All employees will be given a probationary period of ninety days to demonstrate the required skills to be a successful candidate.
